Supergroms Cleanup at Alonnah

When asked why we were cleaning up the local rocky foreshore, the children reminded us of how important it is to look after our wildlife.
"We need to cleanup the beach-there shouldn't be ANY rubbish here" Supergrom (Grade 3)
" To help keep wildlife safe" Julian (Grade 2)
"So animals don't die" Ruby (Prep)
" So that we can care for the beach because we don't want animals eating it...they will die" Supergrom (Prep)
Most of the marine debris collected on this section of rocky shore consisted of ropes and small pieces of black plastic, presumably fish farm waste. The Supergroms finished off the Cleanup session with an afternoon swim. What better way to immerse yourself in the environment than with a good old jetty jump?
As always, children remind us to seize the moment, absorb ourselves in the present and have some fun!
