Inquisitive minds spent a lovely Autumn morning in Pardalote Patch searching for seeds, interestingly shaped leaves, animal scats and spider webs. Sprinkled in were a few cues to encourage children to create imaginary worlds of fairies, witches and magic wands. Why not share the joy of looking closely at the natural world with your child and head out on a treasure hunt together this Autumn.
There is no need to get in the car, it can be as easy as stepping into your backyard, the nature strip or local parkland.
If you take the time to look closely you will find evidence of the natural world everywhere; from the cracks in the pavement or the big street trees in urban areas, to the delicate spider web on the front porch or the welcome swallow nest under the eaves. Nature prevails and if we give them the time, our children can teach us to slow down and take notice!
