Birds of Mosman

This stunning short-film by Marcio Conrado highlights some of the rich diversity of birds that have been seen in and frequent the Mosman peninsula in the heart of Sydney harbour.

From superb fairy wrens, to the Brush Turkey, Lorikeets, and the extraordinary Powerful Owl, Mosman, though laying in the heart of Australia's biggest city, provides crucial habitat for a broad diversity of bird species.

Here, Kuno's wildlife photographer and film-maker takes you through a beautiful mix of wonderful birds that have been seen in and live in Mosman.

Birds of Mosman, by Marcio Conrado
Bird Nerd Alert!

A couple of notes for avid birders.

Marcio compiled this film by a combination of bird-spotting and filming in Mosman itself, and by also cross-checking his bird library across e-bird and other sources' verified sightings of birds within Mosman. Some birds that appear in the film you will see commonly in Mosman, some infrequently, and some have only had rare recorded sightings there.

Many species in the film were physically filmed within Mosman, many were recorded elsewhere but have had confirmed sightings within Mosman.
