Background

Peta has more than 20 years experience in journalism, producing and content making across print, television, radio and online. She worked with ABC News for 13 years in Victoria and Tasmania, filing short and long-form stories across platforms and in to live coverage, for many of the ABC's flagship news and current affairs programs. Peta is an experienced television and radio producer. She has a strong sense of social justice and care for our natural world. She believes passionately in looking after it!

Peta has also worked in communications for the Australian Antarctic Division and Tasmania's recent Commission of Inquiry. She has taught News and Journalism and Science Communication in the University of Tasmania's Media School.

Launching in Hobart

Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah

Bryce Canyon National Park in southern Utah is home to the greatest collection of distinctive spire-shaped rock formations called hoodoos on Earth. Its super-ancient sediment layering dates back to the end of the Cretaceous period, more than 66 million years ago.

Rockhopper penguins

The dramatic-looking rockhopper penguin is characterised by its red eyes, upright yellow head feathers along a supercilium stripe and a crest of black feathers on top. They are separated into three sub-species, photographer here by ecologist Dr Eric Woehler (OAM) and located around the Antarctic and sub-Antarctic zones.
