The magic of the Maldives lies under the surface of the sea.

Coral reefs are the dominant ecosystems found in the islands of the Maldives.

My page will explore the fragility of this ecosystem and how the Maldive community of scientists and researchers are working to preserve this beauty for future generations.

The coral reef systems of the Maldives are the 7th largest in the world and cover an area of nearly 9,000 km2.

This ecosystem is the 5th most diverse in the world and due to climate change is under siege.

Coral bleaching along with overfishing, and other anthropogenic activities are having a devastating impact.

My purpose is tell this story based on my own diving experiences in the Maldives and interactions with the scientific community and local population.

I will also facilitate communication between all the stakeholders to create a unified and broad coalition for saving the Magic of the Maldives.
