Background
Elle Lorraine Wood, born on Gadigal land, grew up in Sydney and later moved to the Gold Coast and Bundaberg. Deeply inspired by her natural surroundings, she channels the beauty of the environment into her work. Her Ocean Dharma and Sacred Ocean Sanctuary series showcase her profound connection to the sea, while her writings explore themes of healing, grounded in a close relationship with nature and earth conservation. A fellow of the Silliman University National Writers Workshop—the longest-running creative writing workshop in Asia. Elle is also the guardian-custodian of Malkootha Sanctuary, a small jungle located on the coastal fringe of Buruanga in Aklan, on Panay Island, Philippines.
