A lynx is an enlarged cat with beautifully pointed ears. It has large paws to help with its balance but a short tail.
Eurasian lynx is the largest species. Body length 80–130 cm; shoulder height 60–75 cm; weight typically 15–30 kg, with large males occasionally reaching 36–38 kg.
Their fine black tufts on the tips of their ears.
Lynx have incredible eyesight and hearing which help them hunt.
Dense boreal or temperate forests.
Lynx are obligate carnivores. Their prey depend on their location, but include Markho, sheep, hares, rabbits, deer or rodents.
Once a year in late winter or early spring, females give birth to a litter of 1-5 kittens with males not participating in the bringing up of their young. Their lifespan is up to 17 years.
Different species of Lynx exist in North America, Europe and Asia.
