A bracing walk along the wild Neck Beach with views out to the Tasman sea, south to Bligh Rocks, where a fascinating tessellated mosaic of rock formations can be explored near the adjacent surging swells and kelp.

From the Neck Campground, follow the sandy track out to the wild Neck Beach, which looks is a magnificent more than 10km long sandy beach which looks out across Adventure Bay and to the Tasman Sea. From the beach, head south, walking for 2km or so to the end of the neck beach and then up onto Blighs Rocks, which are best explored at half tide or lower. Bligh’s Rocks are fascinating little place to explore, with rock pools full of anemone, with the surging sea swells crashing up against the ledge of the Rock formations and kelp providing home to leatherjacket, wrasse and other fishes that you can sometimes see even from the rocks if the water is clear. The Bligh Rocks themselves form fascinating tessellated formations and provide stunning views to Cape Queen Elizabeth to the north and Fluted Cape to the south.

From the Roberts Point Ferry Terminal drive south on the B66 for approx. 27km to the turnoff left to the Neck Beach campground. Coming from South Bruny – drive north approx. 9km from Alonnah on the B66, or drive north 9km from Adventure Bay on the C630 then B66 to the Neck Beach Campground.
