About Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary

Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary is Tasmania's leading wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and conservation organisation. Operating the state's largest 24/7 wildlife rescue hotline, Bonorong coordinates more than 1,000 trained volunteer rescuers responding to over 20,000 wildlife emergencies across Tasmania every year.

Background

Connecting people with wildlife

Bonorong is an ethical tourism enterprise dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of injured and orphaned native wildlife, with release back to the wild as the goal wherever possible. Bonorong's work spans wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, a wildlife hospital, conservation programmes including seabird rehabilitation and eastern quoll breeding, and education experiences designed to connect people with Tasmania's extraordinary native animals. Its rescue service is funded entirely by entry fees and donations, meaning every visitor directly enables an animal in need to receive care.
