EO Wilson was an ecologist, and biologist with a lifelong interest in nature and the outdoors.
He was involved in the conservation of biodiversity from the 1970s, and in 1984 he published Biophilia, which explores the evolutionary and psychological connection between people and the natural world. In 2014, Wilson led an argument to set aside 50% of Earth's land for the priority of species conservation and to save life on Earth. This led to his book Half-Earth and the Half-Earth project.
In this extended interview, Wilson discusses his book, The Future of Life.

“This is the assembly of life that took a billion years to evolve. It has eaten the storms – folded them into its genes – and created the world that created us. It holds the world steady.” - Edward O Wilson.

Born in the Amazon, Marina Silva has been a major figure for decades in its preservation. This film explores her life.
Life has existed on planet earth for at least 3.5 billion years. Over this time, an intricate web of life has evolved, and more than 2 million different types of plants and animals now call Earth home.
Our home planet, Earth, is more than 4.5 billion years old. While life is known to have existed on planet Earth for more than 3.5 billion years, we humans have only been around for 250,000 years. In the life of Earth, this is but the blink of an eye.
