Honouring our people by honouring our land

Mosman
Having grown up in Western New South Wales, I have a great respect for the Natural world.

I spent my childhood walking the bush, picnics in the bush, and I realised what an important value that was to me in my life. And it's made me want to protect the Natural beauty of this country.

I am a very proud Australian and I do not want to see our riches desecrated.

Walking these trails shows the unparalleled beauty of this country - its harshness, its remoteness, but also its beauty, and I'm enormously proud of that.

I became very passionate about the protection of the military assets of these sites that are managed by the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust. Having come from a rural community where many men enlisted not only in the Boer war but World War One, World War Two, and having grown up with those that enlisted all were conscripted to go to Vietnam. I'm very much aware of the great sacrifice these men made for our country.

I think we owe it to our forebears that we preserve and interpret sites such as these for the incredible military history that they hold and we should honour them by continuing to look after these lands.
