100 years of Sir David Attenborough

Last week, Sir David Attenborough turned 100 years old, a milestone that was celebrated around the world. Few people have had such a profound impact on how we, as a collective, view and connect with the natural world.

As a broadcaster, presenter and producer, Attenborough has taken us to every corner of the globe, opening our eyes to the extraordinary wildlife and landscapes our planet holds. More than anyone, he has shown how emotional storytelling can spark people to care and to take action in defence of nature.

By pairing breathtaking wildlife footage with hard truths about the threats facing our planet, while always leaving room for hope and solutions, he has captured the hearts of people across generations.

With his captivating voice and descriptions, Attenborough makes every life equal and just as interesting, from the smallest insects to the biggest mammals. His storytelling reminds people that we are not separate from the natural world - we are a part of it. That protecting the planet is protecting ourselves.
